TKR CHART ATTACK - September 4 2010

You know it's a crazy chart week when there are huge movements at the top and bottom of the chart, and minimal moves in the middle...

Romance On A Rocketship hang on to #1 for a third consecutive week with their debut hit Skin And Bones. Kasey Smith is really capturing the fancy of TKR readers and RadioTKR listeners, that's for sure. So is Krista Branch, who moves into the runnerup position with her pro-USA anthem I Am America. Branch is likely to have enough powerpoints to overtake ROAR next week unless ROAR take a huge leap in points this week. TobyMac moves into the #3 slot with his second huge hit of the year, City On Our Knees.

Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Nozuka grabs his third consecutive top 10 hit with Heartless, which moves up from #11 to #6 this week. The third single from You I Wind Land And Sea; moves above of the second single, Woman Put Your Weapon Down , which drops to #8 after two weeks at #4. Clearly, Nozuka is THE success story on TKR this year; it's a shame that traditional radio seems to be ignoring him entirely - as usual, they're missing out on some of the best tunes of the year. And as I told you in the last CA column three weeks ago, unlike most chart outlets, TKR figures its year end positioning by total chart weeks first, then by peak position, so right now, the year end charts are shaping up to be a battle between Nozuka, Hanson, Adam Lambert, and Owl City,...time will tell what comes out on top for the year...

An astonishing huge power mover this week - singer/actor Tyler Hilton's first TKR Chart hit, This World Will Turn Your Way, leaps a huge sixteen notches to #24 in just it's second week on the chart. This song is looking to be shaping up to be a monster in the weeks ahead...

Also making significant power moves up the chart are the first single from Linkin Park's new album, The Catalyst, moving up 12 to #18 in its second week. And the debut TKR single by Hedley, Perfect, continues to impress, moving a big 9 notches to #15

This week's hot shot debut belongs to the second hit from Hanson's new album Shout it Out, as Kiss Me When You Come Home bows way up at #31 - they also have the oldest song on the chart this week, as their recent monster #1 smash Thinkin' 'Bout Something is STILL sitting in the top ten in its 19th week on the chart. . Also new this week, The Ready Set with Love Like Woe, debuts at #44; Mike Posner's follow up to his recent top 3 smash Cooler Tha Me, Please Don't Go, bows at #47 , and Cartel's latest, Faster Ride, debuts at #48.

Falling off the chart this week: Can't Be Tamed by Miley Cyrus; September by Daughtry; Rock Star by Rhianna featuring Slash, and Speakers by Days Difference.
